A new study suggested that Ebola may have first out broken in Greece about 2400 years ago. It must have happened in 1976 in Zaire that was the Democratic Republic of Congo. This outbreak of virus had taken place in West Africa in 2014 and more than 27,000 people were found to be affected due to this. It had killed nearly 11,200 people at that time. It is said that the virus is very old and the remnants of Ebola DNA has been found in several species of rodents like mouse and Norway rat. Scientists speculate that the virus had infected the ancestors about 20 million years ago. The question that scientists have in their mind regarding the virus is to know if Ebola had spread from animals to human beings before being identified in 1976.
Kazanjian also said that the virus had begun in 430 BC and it is the main cause of conjecture in the physicians and historians. The common symptoms for this disease were fever, fatigue, stomach pain, vomiting and headache. The patients who had survived all these had experienced diarrhoea. It had first begun in the southern Egypt – Aethiopia. Many sub –Saharan Africans had migrated to Greece for work purpose and this may have caused spread of disease like Ebola. The physicians were more prone to this disease. Talking about the current situation, more than 500 health care workers had died due to the outbreak of this virus.
